LMAOOOOOO. As soon as the caller mentioned the museum and ice cream, I knew Tariq was queuing the audio to hit him in the solar plexus. Funny stuff. I can't diss though because college is a rough time for brothers who are trying to build up some credibility. No one tasks you seriously until you stack some paper.

That asian Karlin Chan is telling the NYC Chinese community that they own Ken Thompson. That is why he backed down. This is why I don't sympathize with the blacks in the legal system. They are part of the problem when they do not take a stand. On the flip side, we need an industry for the Ken Thompsons so they do not have to be held hostage by a bunch of chinese racists. This is why we need an economy, to give us alternatives outside of a racist system.

Where is this garbage coalition people keep talking about? Thompson will bow to these asians and they still will go against him for when he is up for reelection. I don't like the ny post but they will give a racist airtime. Check this out.

I don't agree exactly with the advice Tariq gave on finding a dboy or a pi. That is another way to get caught up. Maybe my 'hood was different. Most brothers I know got some job, any square job, saved up some money and moved the hell out of the hood. There were neighborhood sweeps a long time ago that pretty much ended the established gangs. You had some bangers but those were lone wolves for the most part. Brothers need some savings to get a place to setting up a plan to move out of the hood should be priority one. The ghetto is no place for a viable black man. Or black woman. But a black man can't even get subsidies.

Reasons like this I can't put any faith in politics. Tariq always talks about putting ourselves in positions of power, but you'll never know if your politician is a sell out until later, so it's always a gamble. Obama, Holder haven't done anything for the black community. The entire justice system is in bed together having a giant orgy.

I actually think Tariq's advice was spot on! If he left it at "find a square role model" many would say "there are none oh, well" and give up. I like that he gave am alternative... Brothers who are careful and know how to stay away from trouble.

I like to think of a "Stringer Bell" type. He'll never be on some dumb crap. Tbh, as sad as it is the life expectancy of guys in the hood, especially those who are "bout dat life" is really low. Like in the animal kingdom, age is a sign of resiliance and wisdom.

I don't necessarily agree with the Matt Williams part. He should've definitely had security to avoid that little street urchin, but a grown man can't just take a bunch of kids somewhere. Lol

Man, I don't know if the Stringer Bell prototype exists in sufficient numbers. Tariq said a while back that the hood is mostly women, children and old people who could not escape. That is some real talk.

If the hood was dangerous, then the best and brightest of the blacks were encouraged to leave and never come back. So my point is that you never got a critical mass of Stringer Bell's who could be an example for the generation coming up. My old neighborhood was a place that young productive black people abandoned, not a a place where you built a community. It was really sad because were it not for the black home ownership demographic, white people would have bought up that cheap real estate and moved into that same 'hood that the talented blacks abandoned. It is a damn shame.

The thing about Thompson, is that the chinese knew who to threaten. Asians are pathetically passive when it comes to white people. I bet a white DA would have been okay because he would have a white economy to lean back on. The asians are betting that Thompson was isolated. I was overjoyed to see that press conference of black people swearing vengeance if that cop got zero time served. Let the asians and the white people know that it is about to be on.

Btw, the judge in the case is named Danny Chun. It will be very interesting to see what type of sentence Liang gets from his fellow asian Chun. Hmmm.

As for Katt Williams, that brother needs help. People think its funny until there is a tragedy.

Another good show. There are so many issues in the so called black community, should I dare say with gentrification. The understanding black people should have those who are 40 and beyond yeah, I am slow. special for the a male. Things will be slow for at least 9- 10 month's but if you get 2 good month's you gotta put things in place if you can, poverty is real the forgiveness factor is dam near none. f you, got one more chance but if I see that bull again in any form it is done, don't call me I won't call you, cause you can't gain. 2 brother's putting in paper work is strong or sister I am alpha and no less out here I see brother and sister messing up 4-5 grand like it ain't nothing when was your name Donald Trump. like my man Jason black says teams going nowhere, and there's a lot of teams out here looking real funny to me, and not in a ha ha way. It cost to be the boss, and everybody can't be the boss.Oh yeah for the sucker singing in court your early release request is Denied!

I tell you black people need to watch that speech by Dr. John Clark title of You Have No Friends.

Before Liang's conviction, a few weeks ago, in NYC, busloads of chinese and it was only the chinese, were carrying signs showing Liang and Akai Gurney side by side as victims. Now that Liang has been convicted, the chinese are showing their true colors. Thompson is getting punked. The chinese are going to come for him just for filing charges. That DA had nothing to lose by recommending time. These chinese are taking the same posture as any other white supremacists.

I keep cool relations with a few of these other bootleg people of color on a 1 on 1 basis but as a group I just do not mess with them.
Not the arabs. Not the chinese. Not the indians. None of them are worth any trust.

This Liang case is giving black people that up front racism. asian racists using the levers of white supremacy to exact revenge. Glad this generation is waking up.

What a lot of us don't know is that Kenneth Thompson's mother was an nypd cop back in the 1970's through the early to mid nineties.also when he got elected to become the first black district attorney in Brooklyn,n.y.back in 2014,he opened up some previous cases of incarcerated men,mostly blacks,who were falsely locked up for shit they were framed for by two former italian cops.i forget their names right now.anyway,he investigated and found the imprisoned individuals not guilty and they were set free. I'm from Brooklyn so i remember that.I'm thinking the reason why he made that announcement about that chinese former cop not to do time is because of his mother.i definitely believe that chump should do some time at least for involuntary manslaughter.but we don't control the racist legal system and Thompson surely knows this.as far as those chinese making it hard for him for his next re-election,they don't have that type of juice.only in chinatown. If you dont live in this rotten apple,then you really can't speak on it as i can.no disrespect.as far as him being a candidate for the coon train,that is up in the air.just my thoughts.peace.

Thanks for the insight. I hate putting people on the coon train for nothing. I saw a news conference of some black people, a city council member and Gurney's family, in Brooklyn who were really angry at Thompson's recommendation. If the Chinese had no juice outside of Brooklyn then I still wonder why he did this. The police union and the nypd weren't supporting this man. Who shook Thompson?

I could kind of see it if there was an accidental shooting but the cops did not even call an ambulance. Liang was calling his union rep while a man bled to death. Absolutely no jail for pulling out a gun in a building where people live in the face of zero threats? If Thompson had even suggested a year of jail with the same reasoning that would make sense.

I guess if the chinese didn't force his hand and the nypd showed zero support for liang, then what is Thompson's point. Dude may have a done a lot for incarcerated brothers. Maybe he is playing chess instead of checkers. I''ll look up his record to see what is up.

Tariq, you told people you were not enthused with the book, African American Names and Their Meanings that I sent to you and your wife. Sorry you didn’t like my book. I meant you no harm. I am not a man. I am a black/melanated woman. I didn’t make up those names. Contained in my book are names that black men and women have actually given to their children. People laugh at those names and call them ghetto. Now you have added ratchet to the name calling. Such sentiments and name calling is the reason why I wrote my book. I gave meanings to those names to give the children who have to bear them some dignity. If the truth be told, all names are made up.

Moreover, please read the introduction to my book for a historical overview and analysis of African American naming practices. My introduction provides my impetus for writing the book.

Much respect sister. Yeah, I think Tariq overstepped the line on that one considering you sent him the book offline.It shouldn't have made a difference but my guess is that he assumed you were a man and Tariq is hell on the black males. Black males set the tone of a community so we should get a harsher evaluation.

White people get PhD thesis and grants off of studying black people for anthropological purposes. I am really cool with a non-black who does academic work studying melanated cultures. She makes serious bank. We throw innovation away and white people figure out how to monetize it. I can see a bunch of white hipsters putting out a book of Africa-American names and meanings and getting on the NY Times bestseller list.

I don't see why black names would not be worthy of study, other than the fact that many of those names are correlated with low income blacks.

Thanks for dropping a note clarifying the situation and the context. On some real talk, punishing anyone for his or her birth name is another pillar of white supremacy. The black community got on Rayven for that nonsense and rightly so.

Thanks for your reply and sentiments. I sincerely hope that Tariq will show his audience a copy of my book read some of the actual names and their meanings. Those names and meanings he called out on the air cannot be found in my book. He made those names up. On the front cover of my book is a picture of my middle son, who is now almost 32 years old. On the back cover of my book is a picture of my youngest son, who is almost 30 years old.

Below is basically the email message I sent to Tariq prior to sending him two copies of my book. I wanted Tariq to know that my offer to send him a copy of my book was legitimate. I know that crazy acting people-- trolls--call him all the time. So I sent him a picture of the front cover and information contained on the back cover of the book. To no avail I tried to paste a copy of the book for you to see. Below is what I emailed to Tariq.

"This is my book. I just wanted you to know my offer [to send him a copy of my book] is legitimate. This is a picture of my book and a blurb about the book’s contents from my website, Cowrie Publishing Company."

"Dr.Ogunleye attempts to enrich the lives and realities of contemporary African Americans by recording, and many times, assigning meanings to the innovative names they have given to their children.Using the cultural and historical experiences of African Americans as well as numerous west and southern African languages, she defines approximately two thousand unique names African Americans have bestowed upon their children. The meanings ascribed to these names inspire pride, confidence, and hope in the individual so named, his or her family, and African American people. This book also provides its readers with an historical overview of the naming practices of African Americans dating back to the Holocaust of Enslavement."
