And this is why I respect Tariq. Just break that down nice and simple.

I've seen white people get tickets, curse the cop out, rip up the ticket, throw it away and drive off...and suffer no repercussions.

This was about race plain and simple. Young black kids walk the line 24/7. All the white supremacists know how to do with black kids is escalate. I guarantee if they had got a female teacher in that room, they could have coaxed that girl out of the classroom. Maybe send her to the counselor.

And this might be old but since we are on the topic of black kids.
I think the real reason the Sudanese boy got the special treatment is because Americans know that Muslims don't really take disrespect lying down. Specifically the Muslims who come from that part of the world. They'll hold onto a grudge for generations and retaliate. We see that right now. So I think the President and other people had to calm that down because attacking a bunch of Muslim youths in America is a completely different game than attacking black youths. Muslims will organize and retaliate.

One thing my father taught me is that people will disrespect you unless they are sure you will retaliate. So take heed black people.

The NY Daily News has an article about a black soldier and his ex-wife who got beat down by that white cop Ben Fields. The black soldier said something profound. He said that his wife left him because he could not protect her against the cop beatdown. This is the cost of white supremacy.

" This is the cost of white supremacy." And it's obvious that too many of us are ready and willing to pay that price. From Sherriff Clarke to all the negroes condoning the actions of the SRO at the SC high school and victim blaming that 16 year old teenager. Self hatred is a clear indication of Stockholm Syndrome that is now embedded in our DNA. I'm done. I refuse to get upset any longer about what happens to us and the indignities and inhumanity that we suffer. Characteristically, we are a simple people, in more ways than one. Peace

@BoomerGal

Blacks born and raised in America are the most docile people on the planet Earth. We have blacks here who are MORE brain washed than North Koreans. Think about that. The North Koreans have information hidden from them yet they still know enough to try to escape their oppressor. With no weapons, sickly and and deeply hungry, North Koreans at least try to make their way to China or South Korea to get out of that mess.

You got well-fed blacks in a country that is flooded with weapons and information. Yet they are scared to face their oppressor. I want to blame the Civil Rights generation for raising docile children but our generation has to face its cowardice.

Another part of that story of the young black girl getting the beaten is the SECOND black student who got arrested for speaking up. She said she could not take it anymore and kept asking if no one would do anything. That black male teacher stood there and just watched. Can you imagine for one second a white male teacher just standing there and watching while a black cop manhandled a white girl?

And no one is saying the black girl is a saint or perfect. All right thinking people are saying is "was the result proportional to the alleged transgression?" Why are blacks always escalated on? They couldn't find a guidance counselor or maybe another woman?
If you believe that black girl deserved that treatment, then you should get the same treatment next time you get a ticket for illegal parking. Instead of giving you a ticket the cop should pistol whip you into a coma. After all, you shouldn't have been parking there right? This is the logic of the brain washed coon.

And Raven from the View is a joke. One of these new blacks who only get press when they dump on black people. Seriously. You never hear from them otherwise. I am so sick and tired of Hollywood blacks. They are either cooning, crying(the black men), apologizing(all of them), praying or whatever. They do everything except for stand up for blacks. Just pathetic.

And the white supremacists will keep whooping until black people get out of their docility.

BoomerGal, I am not tired because I have to keep living now and make sure I do SOMETHING for the next generation. I can't leave them in a worse situation than our parents left us. The trick is finding like-minded blacks and leaving the coons, the hotep, the conscious, herbal tea sisters behind. Leave the all behind and let the white people devour them.

Well, I'm tired b/c as my name indicates I came along in the 60s and 70s. We had the Black Panthers, Malcolm, Medgar, Marcus Garvey, Little Rock Nine, Elijah Muhammad and a host of other icons and notables. We left the blue print for the next generation to follow and somewhere along the way the next generation dropped the ball. Hopefully, we'll wake up before there are few of us left. Then it won't matter.

BTW, the black man in the SC classroom was not the teacher. The teacher was a white male. The black guy in the video is the Principal of the school. Peace

@BoomerGirl
Anyone who is still sleeping is straight comatose. Let them lay.
If 10% of us are still awake, that is enough.

The black man was the principal. That is even worse. Cot damn.

What black people have to figure out, long enough to survive, is that we have been outmanned, outgunned, outspent, outmaneuvered and strategically regroup. There is nothing wrong with a strategic retreat to build up strength. But we can't even acknowledge what has happened to us.

I still say the Civil Rights movement was the biggest con ever played on black folk because we think we won that one. Next came the war on drugs, the flooding of the streets with guns and drugs, the celebration of black pathology, etc.

So my point is, I am still of a generation that needs to regroup, because they are not sparing any of us. I was in a gentrified neighborhood the other day and damn if the black people didn't look like extras from the Walking Dead. you had a bunch of perky, young white people walking in between a bunch of disabled, black senior citizens. Some begging. Some with obvious mental health issues. I am not trying to be a zombie. I got to keep moving.

Peace sister.

"He said that his wife left him because he could not protect her against the cop beatdown. This is the cost of white supremacy."

I understand, but I am completely against her actions. Whatever happened to "for better or for worse"?

I understand she wants a guy to make her feel protected, but she knew he was black when they married, right? We didn't have a reverse-Rachel Dolozeal thing going on did we? He can't do anything about it.

That's like marrying a guy in a wheelchair and complaining if y'all both get jump and he can't protect you.

To be fair, a white guy couldn't do anything either (at the moment) he'd probably be able to get the cop in trouble later on though.

There is a part where Tariq admonishes victim shaming when he mentioned people saying that the girl should bear some responsibility for her actions. Didn't Tariq say that there is two sides to every ass whooping a few years back?

The fact that you remember this episode tells me you probably aren't some white supremacist troll (which I usually ignore).

If you aren't a white supremacist I'm disappointed at your inability to grasp the point.

If I recall correctly, Tariq said "there's two sides to every story" to make the point, a girl who is constantly finds herself in abusive relationships probably has some REALLY bad quality, and you should avoid her.

To say a black girl refusing to leave class justified a grown man attacking her is one of the dumbest things I've heard in a long time (and I've hard A LOT of dumb shit!)

Do you remember the guy who almost got the cops called on him for wanting to see his college guidance counselor? Please tell me how much he would've deserved it if he got killed?

Sorry, "raising your kids better" is NOT gonna stop white supremacy... you get a ribbon for trying though!

America does a good job down playing the existence of racism and white supremacy. We here in the Caribbean experience varying degrees of white supremacy as well but not to the extreme Black Americans do. Most of our cops are Black and easily locatable. Unfortunately the average Caribbean person's idea of Black America is based on the negative bullshit propaganda you find in the media. The Million Man March would have been a great thing for us to observe but obviously they wont show depictions of Blacks unless we're slaves or tearing shit up.

Your blueprint comment had a moment to marinate in my cerebral cortex.

And this is not to take away from what your generation did.
Much respect on all fronts. I was in Europe recently and was encouraged by how much so many of them revered Black American culture, specifically the artistic side, before the War on Blacks came in under the War on Drugs banner. And that war decimated us. Let us be real.

Anyway, I think what my generation has to leave behind is very simple. We are well past the blueprint phase.
We either leave behind wealth, weapons and property or we will surely perish. With weapons, wealth and property you can make your stand.

As the topic was superheroes last week, for those of you who saw X-Men: Days of Future Past and read the early comic books, you know that the slogans from the X-Men were taken 100% from the Black Civil Rights movement. All of it was coopted and applied to the mutants. Storm even had blue eyes at one point. My point is this, if black people don't put together on offense and a defense we are going to be like the mutants under the Sentinels. I read the comics and watching those Sentinels just stone cold kill the X-Men in the beginning gave me real chills. It was an abstraction on our reality.

I love the Professor X/Magneto - Martin Luther King/ Malcolm X analogy X-men draws.

I just do not see Malcolm X as a villain. The only difference to me as I understand, is Malcolm X advocated self-defense, whereas Magneto wants to wipe out ALL of their enemies indiscriminately.

I lean toward Malcolm/Magneto than MLK/ Prof. X. Were it not for wanting to kill ALL humans, I would say Magneto pretty much has the right idea.

You aren't gonna win white people over with love or get them to acknowledge their humanity. All species of animals acknowledge power and threats. Humans are no different.

@Mr. Jon

There is nothing like chopping up game with the brethren.

If I remember the autobiography, Malcolm X's father was killed in a fire set by the KKK. And his mother was beaten down by the state welfare system.

Magneto was a Holocaust survivor so his perspective was closer to Malcolm X's. Professor X was a rich boy who had an accident that left him a paraplegic. Now that I think about it, Professor X does sound like a name a black muslim would assume. I don't think the writers were problack but it is clear they took the black struggle to make profits for Marvel and now Disney.

If I remember Magneto's origin from back in the day, his parents were both killed in the Holocaust. At least his immediate family were prisoners of the Nazis and died in the camps. So Malcolm and Magneto lost parents in fire. YEah, I know we are comparing fictional characters to real men.

So yes, the Malcolm X and Magneto analogy is apt. Someone at Marvel was soaking up that Civil Rights movement.

Anyway, this shows you how crazy white supremacy makes people.
The X-Men comics spent literally decades talking about the discrimination against mutants because of a genetic difference. Yet these white boys do not absorb any of those lessons.

And the mutants had their own set of sellouts. I vaguely remember a cross-over called the Mutant Massacre where a bunch of mutants were used to hunt and exterminate other mutants. Kind of reminds me of the sellouts we have in our midst. The white supremacists use them to destroy black people.

It gets deep but not that deep. The message is right there in front of us. But cot damned black people are beaten down and brain washed people.

"You aren't gonna win white people over with love or get them to acknowledge their humanity. All species of animals acknowledge power and threats. Humans are no different."

Yeah, if you notice, North Korea has said clearly that if the USA attacks them they will bury Seoul, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan with conventional ballistic missiles. No need for a nuclear option. That is the only reason why the USA has not attacked North Korea. Because the USA knows what it means to attack two economies in the top ten of world economies. World Depression.

Same with the Iranians. The Iranians say that if they get attacked they will just destroy the Saudi oil fields. We talk a lot of junk about the Pakistanis but with their nuclear arsenal we are not attacking them anytime soon. And so on. All these lessons on the world stage and black people are trying to dance their way out of this mess. COT DAMN

I totally agree. Plus, the creators of Marvel, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby stated in a PBS documentary that their entire comic line up from the late 50's and early 60's were based on the themes of the Civil Rights movement. And the first artist concepts of characters like Nick Fury and Spiderman were of Black men.

@Princ K.
Yeah, I know this is old but you got me thinking. Both Lee and Kirby were ethnically Jewish. There were a lot of Jews involved in the Civil Rights movement, for better or for worse. Then black people got abandoned. So we just have us now.

I saw a short documentary a while back, wish I could remember the source, about the many Jewish professionals who fled antisemitism in Europe before WWII. They came to America and many taught at predominantly black institutions. It was deep stuff. I vaguely remember them interviewing some of those Jewish teachers.
They wanted to teach and the black institutions gave them an opportunity, particularly in the south. So black people stay welcoming others.

And going through my comic collection the other day for stuff to sell, I was amazed at how much dignity the Storm character had. She spoke English properly, never bed wenched, cooned or buck danced. Her clothes stayed on. She was one of the most powerful mutants, Omega level or whatever the hell they called it. I think her level was just below Magneto's.

That is why when you see Halle Berry as Storm in the X-Men movies it is a damn embarrassment. Storm was a real boss chick in the comics, probably the best recognized female after Wonder Woman and Super Girl. But Halle had two lines and that was about it. But I digress. Bending over in Monster's Ball got her nothing.

Peace.

I wish we as black people can just STOP acknowledging Mz. Symone. (And I know I'm breaking my own rule now) but she was a child star who vanished into obscurity and now gets spotlight because she's a "shock jock" coonette! I don't even read her articles or discuss her... ever!

In any case, good show! I think black people just want to acknowledge fault as a defense mechanism... they don't want to acknowledge the fact that ANYONE of us can be killed at any time for any reason and through no fault of our own. Even I find myself hoping a black person did something wrong, when I hear of a cop shooting... I would much rather a justified death than an unjustified one (which is often the case).

White folks are the Kings and Queens of double standards! I love how now everyone is like

"she hit the cop first!!!"

A girl who is 90 lbs soaking wet! Any other time, American society has a strict "don't hit a woman no matter the circumstance" mentality.

If Jay-Z had hit back that ratchet, hood-rat, Solange Knowles when she was assailing him in the elevator all of America (including fake feminist groups) would've called for his head and his career would've been over.

Hell, Ray Rice's girl actually attacked him first, no one gives a damn. Now people wanna claim self-defense for a guy who is double a child's weight with a utility belt of deadly weapons?

Get tha fuck outta here!!!

Dude, to date, I have not heard one black man celebrate Ray Rice for hitting his wife. At the most, I have heard black men say he has the right to defend himself.

What I hate about that situation, is that black men don't even get a chance to get back up once the machine decides to make an example of them. Ray Rice, just like Mike Vick, went through the legal system, got penalized by the NFL and still these dumb as a goose white people, especially the white feminists and their black feminist lapdogs, would not let that man move on with his life.

Ray Rice can't even get a regular 9 to 5 without someone complaining. With no funds, watch his wife and daughter end up in the system.

Mr. Jon
10/30/2015 06:03:08 pm

@Hors Sfier,

That's why I don't care for those vain attempts at getting back into good graces of white society. For these white supremacists NOTHING will ever be good enough... Hell, even an ALLEGATION is grounds to blackball a black person forever.

That's why I sorta like Bill Cosby's approach (although *IF he's guilty, I'm all for his punishment). He doesn't really defend himself, he doesn't talk about it, he doesn't waste endless energy trying to change people's minds.

He's old, he realizes there's no coming back, so he says fuck it!
