Man kanye has started some real bitch shit,man smh.These type of black ppl are on some real weak shit and its mainly because of them not knowing better.When you don't know better you fall for whatever is being pushed on you.Its crazy too because they are so unaware that they don't even know this was predicted less then ten years ago. I am sorry brother, you cannot blame Kanye for this behavior. What about the brother basketball player that wore wedding gowns on the court in the NBA, looking like a big doofus? I guess that was o.k. because he's a basketball player? And the fact that most black men & women think playing basketball is the only way out?

Yeah, Kanye is the fruit(ha) not the root of this nonsense. The root being single mother households. Not to give Dennis Rodman a pass but Rodman was so out there so fast that he really did not influence black culture. His white fans were the ones checking on that. Now that I think about it, there was a weird proportion of black professional players who were cross dressing. Ricky Williams did that wedding cover with Mike Ditka. Larry Johnson crossed-dressed as his grandmother. Most recently there was fat Charles Barkley as Alicia Keys. It is just weird. You do not see anywhere near the same proportion of white athletes putting on lipstick and makeup.

Tariq had me until he said societies are in decline when women are the leaders. Not true. The Europeans had many queens who ruled huge empires like Elizabeth and Isabella (the queen who paid Christopher Columbus to come to America), etc. All you have to do is Google European empires and find this info. I thought he was a historian. He should know better.

You're referring to a time and era where women were held to a higher standard and was morally respected by men of that era. Times change and so have the women. The European system does not speak of the leadership of other women through out the world, where their culture and region are certainly different.

Another great show Tariq. Tariq made some good points with the whole aggressive submissiveness. We have too many brothers raised by single mothers who are comfortable with taking on a submissive role in life. We as black men really have to start taking charge because the women will follow our lead. As a dude y from the hood I make it a point to dissociate myself from dumb hood shit. Im in school for engineering and I'm trying to set a good example for other young black men. But as black men we really have to let some black people go and start handling business because like Tariq said we can pour magic water all day but its time to just man up.

I kind of got that impression myself. Seemed like a caucasian school teacher type with all that "they're so talented but not living up to their potential" talk. And then, of course the whole "I went to panther meetings" which seems to be the popular thing to say these days when everybody knows most people cowered away from the panthers way back then, but now it's cool to claim you were in with them.

Is it just me or was that first call kind of suspicious. Why did she keep repeating the same words over and over. I did not here one drop of negro dialect in her voice.Not all black men who get on gov assistance are faking mental illness.You have to examine all of the mental and physical abuse that happens in the black community specifically aimed at black men. This never gets examined because black males are still viewed as subhuman to some degre under white supremacy.Many brothas truly need help or else they will end up on the streets or worst. I do believe there needs to be more programs specifically designed to help black men with mental illness but this like many things will have to be a demand not a want.

There are some real petty critiques on the board. Tariq's points were still valid irrespective of the alleged troll. He really broke down how single mother households are just disasters for black people, both men and women. Near every black person I have had problems with in life was raised by a single mother. That comment about men who count other men's money gave me flashbacks to some haters. Some black girl screaming independence while on WIC and EBT is straight insane.Their sons grow up the same way. If you pay attention you can tell the blacks who got raised by single mothers without asking them.

I don't think you have ever seen real Christianity. You won't find it in 99.9% of any of the churches in this country nor in Europe. We have a false Christianity and a false image of Christ being worshiped. If you were to meet a real Christian you would know it from him except by his actions or if you asked them. Christianity is from us (black people) to them but we are also it's worst offenders.

If not the same, sorry for the confusion (I guess)... Sometimes women (and men) call into Tariq's show just to get attention / defuse spousal incidents / put friend that also listens on blast.

I was born as a crack baby from a crack whore mother and my father was killed when I was 1 yrs old. I grew up most of my child hood life in foster homes. I lived with a white family for 4 yrs of my childhood life where I saw first hand how they teach their own kids and viewed others. I was placed on medication (Ritalin) along with others meds in which I felt I actually didnt need. I was always told how I wouldn't amount to nothing when I got older etc. As an young teenager in the hood I got in trouble and caught a felony at 18. I remembered everything negative thing a MF said to me. I used that to motivate me and get myself out the hood, but I made a choice. My point is, as an individual you have to want change so bad you are will risk your life on it. I have been listening to Tariq for 5yrs now and has helped me with my confidence, self awareness, and how carry myself as a man. If we had more black men such as Tariq teaching and not preaching or complaining. Then you would have better black men leading in the right direction. I tired of seeing and hearing niggas doing nothing but speculate when you know can contribute. Its repulsive! We got poor uneducated individuals in the hood who dont want nothin but money, hoes, and clothes because that is what is taught as a youngster. So I say stop complaining and do something to educate and eradicate this ignorance. How are people in the hood going find any adequate info if they dont know where to look? Imma end this by saying this, if you are not doing anything to educate or help those in need SHUT THE F*** UP! A lot of these women got more heart than a lot men out here. The reason we are failing as a community is because black men are failing themselves. There is NO excuse or option for failure.

In reference to today, this idea of masculinity and femininity and the gender roles assigned to each are the central issue behind the aggressive submissiveness in men and the psychology behind "dykes" or women who act like men. Men don't know how to be men. Women are forced to be men. I will say, it's been the toughest challenge as a woman being raised by independent women to step back and let my man be "a man" meaning to protect, provide, and to ride with him through his mistakes and help him stay focused but let him figure it out. He needs that. And he struggles to understand my need to be treated like a woman, like a queen and not some girl or "one of the boys." I need that. BUT also, he needs emotional release and I get a little rough that's okay, too. It's all about balance and progress.

Tariq's statement about societies being led by female rulers as being in decline was exceptionally dumb. Elizabeth I remains one of the greatest leaders of all time, as does Catherine the Great (Russia). How would he account for male leaders who hurt their nations or empires?
