yea, gotta disagree with flex too. Sometimes he power trips. the newport thing would work to perfection because you can easily transition to a different brand of product. The young man said Newport because those were the cigarettes that Garner were selling. Also the gentleman said that we are basically supporting the brand by being the number one consumer of their product. in turn the company employs less than 25% of our people.

The number one reason (IMO) why all of you guys are wrong - and Tariq didn't get to touch on this cause I THINK he was in a hurry... Smoking cigarettes is an ADDICTION. People are ADDICTED TO NICOTINE. People smoke cigarettes because it calms them down and its more legal than marijuana (at present)...

Mr. Jon

Yea, flex can have a one-track mind sometimes, for better or for worse. The gentleman was making a point, I don't think he was hearing him though.

King Flex.. you be jammin'. I never become interested in a song until you play it on the introduction of your show. Anyways, I'm posting to to say that Flex was right, just because Eric Garner was suspected of selling loose Newport's, shutting them down does noting to further our cause.

Of course, you might say, had blacks not be the primary supporter of Newport, Eric Garner wouldn't have been selling them and would probably still be alive, today. This might be true, but in saying so, we are still playing the "blame the victim" game. This is the game the District Attorney and Grand Jury is playing, with us. The object of the game is to shift them blame from the police, back, to Garner.

No one's to blame in this case but Officer Daniel Pantaleo. He's the one who placed the deadly choke hold on Eric Garner. However, you will never hear these people tell you. This case is an open, shut case to many legal professionals, but by being viewed publicly, it then becomes complicated.

The people behind this case are all in the legal profession. They are police officers, lawyers, District Attorney's and they shift blame day in and day out. This is what they do. So, don't depend on them to be upfront with you. They know the game. Their Attorney's gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend them from costly litigation, such a this. And, to them, Eric Garner ain't nothing but another nigga.

Keep doing your thing, Honorable King Flex. You are on point with everything (that's black). Brotha, I know it's not my place but I think a collaboration with brothas such as "Irritated Genie", "Seti", "Umar Johnson", and yourself (KING FLEX) should be made. Any black under the age of 25 who is still asleep at this point needs to be left behind. I just listened to NWA's F*ck the Police. ALL of the problems that Ice Cube talked about 25 years ago are still problems today. Blacks need ACTION. A bunch of people from John Clark to Claude Anderson to Tariq have been speaking on this for years. Krs-One did "That's the Sound of the Police" YEARS ago. Everyone knows black people can talk and gab with the best. We need action.

The cat that wants to boycott Newport DOES have a point. Cigarette and liquor companies TARGET our communities (remember "Uptown" brand cigarettes that one of the tobacco companies wanted to brand and sell to us?). Our communities have all kinds of health problems, so I actually think this is a good idea. If 90% or their revenue comes from the black community, yet they only employ a small percentage of blacks, I say we should stop buying their brand. I don't smoke, and I think it's a filthy habit. It's a win all around by not only not buying Newports, but stop with the unhealthy habits in general.

Ya'll right, but that doesn't mean black people gone do it, that is why we are still being subjugated - because of black peoples' addictions to things that make them feel good. Did you see how many Negroes were black Friday shopping on TV news? Now imagine if you tried to get them to give up crack, weed, alcohol, cigarettes,,, etc Yariq is right about creating a parallel economy to replace the one owned by white supremacists. What conscious brother is going to sell cigarettes to his own people (and be able to do it legally without hassle form the government). Not to mention tasting ans smelling like Newport's which would most likely involve painstaking time intensive reverse engineering

Thankfully, other brothers in sports media came after Charles Barkley HARD tonight on Twitter. His colleague at TNT, Kenny Smith, hit him up with an open letter. Kevin Blackistone got at him. Chris Broussard, and former NBA player Eton Thomas also posted an open letter. TNT tomorrow night will be must see, because that will be the first time their face to face since Charles' comments.

Check out Barkely's statements on ESPN after Smith's open letter.
Charles Barkeley is an embarrassment. Charles said, and you can look it up, that he does not know if slavery was bad, just what his grandmother told him. Can you imagine a black person, over the age of 50 saying he does not know if slavery was bad. I tuned out once I heard him utter those words. Just wow. Even if you ignore what black slaves said plenty of white people described the horrors.

Can you imagine a black person above 5 years old saying slavery isn't bad??

Hell, even white people know it was an atrocity. That's why they never deny that it was bad, all they say is

"Get over it!"

"I wasn't responsible"

"None of us were there. Were you a slave?"

Timothy
12/14/2014 08:04:10 am

OH YEAH. The moment that comment about not knowing how bad slavery was came out of his mouth, I was dumbfounded. I mean...are you fuckin' serious? You ONLY know what your grandmother told you? And Charles still misses the point. It isn't only about slavery. It's everything that's happened since, with slavery planting the seed. He should educate himself on how the government created those bad neighborhoods by design, then send the troops (cops) in to kill the problem they created. Right off the bat, I said to myself that Kenny's open letter wasn't telling Charles to shut up - it was telling him to adequately inform himself before opening his mouth.

Tariq, Newport was a good idea

Black people should stop watching TNT because Charles Barkley is one of the long time commentators on that network for NBA games. If black people want to show a example, hit TNT up and make them lose ratings. It's time for black people to get serious. The Black Friday Boycott helped. Now we need to X out any person, white or any other race that openly supports or excuses white supremacy.

Black folks should also demand these prosecutors get charged and disbarred for their actions of helping police get away with killing unarmed black people. And also boycott Fox News and CNN.

I agree with you and Robert Smith of ESPN agrees with Barkley so boycott him too. Torrey Smith of the Baltimore Ravens also is a sellout who deflects from Eric Garner, Tamir Rice and Mike Brown by talking that black on black crime myth. Torrey Smith is a political science major so his view point is even more disappointing for that reason I thought he was smarter but he sounds like a sellout so boycott him too. CNN also hired the attorney who got off Zimmerman and they keep bringing on the attorney for Darren Wilson to speak. They also brought on the disgraced former cop Roorda who blasted the St Louis Rams players for the Hands Up moves. History will look back on pictures of Kenny Britt and Jared Cook and the others and realize not all athletes are focused on money only. Deion Sanders said "I will pray for you" to the grieving families of these victims just like he says when Reggie Bush gets a twisted ankle or something. Deion and Mike Irvin defended Riley Cooper and Richie Incognito so anytime they are too scared to take a stand to defend black people on these issues we see they are tap dancers for the supremacists who write their checks.

One of the many problems we are having here is that the Europeans love to say that Africans don't like American Africans. I know this is propaganda but it creates division. They go so far as to say we are hated by our brothers and sisters in the motherland. This misconception must be resolved and can only be done by Africans in other countries and the motherland. It must be corrected publicly.

My area has a large number of blacks from the Caribbean and African.
I go to their socials a lot and it is ALL LOVE. Back in the day, African sisters gave a brother no play, but I get much cooperation from them now. No white gives a damn what tribe you are from when they are setting you up for death.

I think that myth of Africa and African-Americans hating each other is dying out because the white system treats us the same. I told an Afro-Latino that to white supremacy, he is just a nigger who speaks Spanish. No one cares that he is Puerto Rican or whatever. The problem black Americans have is that Africans will come to America, but blacks are afraid to go to Africa. Meanwhile, white people STAY in Africa. I told a black American about my plan to go to Senegal. He got all panicky talking about Ebola this blah blah blah. Meanwhile, Tuberculosis is making a comeback in the USA!!

All of the gas stations in the city of Memphis are owned by Africans, Middle Eastern, etc. Of course I buy gas at all of them, but sometimes can tell that they are still just as sleep as cooning Black people also. And I know for sure that I stopped going to Shibuya and Shinjuku because of the harassment by Africans, much like I avoid Roppongi because of American military. Aint no talking to them about it, because if a fight broke out, who gets deported? EVERYONE, no matter if they threw a punch or not.

Americans that have Mother Africa in them can change situations for better. Don't be a fool and believe everything you hear from those not like you. Save your money for rainy days like right now. Talking too much brings forth complications. Don't speak ill of your brothers and sisters because others will use this. Don't invest your time with those liking to entertain backward ideas. Remember all nationalities, creeds, and segregations have something in their back pocket. Do you? No, I don't think so. Not yet. Are you on the same page? Be silent unless you have a strong tactful idea that will prove to be benificial and if not, listen and support, think ahead instead of living for now, and take action. You can't afford to act like an ass now or to point your sticks at your own people. If you think other wise watch the American news.

PS: When you have more money and power don't reveal your cards just yet. First get 25 steps ahead of those around you because to them, America is their land and they will be damned if some "Savage They Brought On A Boat" takes that from them.

Love and Peace

EXCELLENT show Tariq but I also have to disagree with you on the Newport comment. Although it'd be a small start to showing white supremecist's that melanoid people aren't gonna put up with this shit anymore,it's a start. I looked up the stats and Newport is a white owned company, primarily with white workers that has a HUGE $ base of melanoid people. Short anecdote : I used to smoke years ago & was traveling to down south to visit relatives. I stopped in a redneck city in Louisiana and requested a pack of Newports. The store owner outright told me that he doesn't sell that nigg#r shit there. I've also noticed throughout the years that wherever I'm in an area heavily populated by melanoid people, the only brand selling is Newport. For whatever fucked up reason, Newport is associated with the average black smoker and Marlboro is associated with white smokers. Anyways, I looked up their demographic breakdown and sure enough, more than 80% of their customers are melanoid or Hispanic like myself, so boycotting them MIGHT send a message but I do agree that it'd only be a start and bigger corporations like Fox News,CNN,MSNBC ALSO need to get shut out. The point is to follow the money and as far as smoking goes, it's Newport. So I think a thorough study of companies that target black people but are white owned should be brought to light. Anyways, the show was excellent today on ALL topics except the Newport slam. Keep up the good work Tariq, the whole "economic warfare"strategy to combat white supremacy is right on! Marches and education programs are great but to REALLY combat white supremacy building up an economic base and disrupting the white supremacy economic base is the way to go.

I agree with you. That brother that called up was on to something.

To walk a mile you have to take one step at a time. The boycott of black friday is the first step. The next step, to expand the boycott to target more white owned population is the next step.

We hit them in their wallets we send a message. The next step after the boycotts is to take that money and spending it with our people and our businesses. This can take the form of either investing and entrepreneurship.

I have no issue with boycotting companies that profit from selling poison to black folks.

It goes back even farther. The thing I always found amazing is that white people were willing to kill other white people during the civil rights movement (and every other similar rebellion) rather than acknowledge blacks as being human. You would kill your best friend/lover/family before you would allow a black person to eat at the same restaurant as you. It's beyond disturbing what's going on inside the heads of these white supremacists.

Yea,

Maintaining white supremacy should be added to their Maslow's Hierarchy of needs!

Remember, they "disown" their children if they bring non-whites (usually blacks) into their families.

So in essence, they will give up their own seed in the name of white supremacy!

Hors Sfier
12/10/2014 12:57:57 pm

@JayBay Tariq called the white supremacist mindset demonic. I am not religious but the more you study that mindset, the more you realize that it is a bottomless pit of evil. I think that is why religion and racism are so tightly intertwined. White people go to church on Sundays but can be racist 24/7.

@Mr. Jon
One of my kin, a black woman, is married to a white man. Here's the thing, white mike is an only child. My kin pointed out that her white in-laws have been giving her hell because her husband is an only child, so her husband's kids with a black woman be black. So that will be the end of the line of white people with that surname. She told me some straight horror stories of stuff they said to her. Just unreal. The in-laws can't disown the white son. He is all they have. Heavy.

Mr. Jon

Serves 'em right!

These idiots don't understand how genetics work, the child gets genes from both parents... perhaps the phenotype will favor the darker person, but there's no guarantee a kid will look like a parent even IF they are the same race.

That's what happens when people try to "preserve" an arbitrary social construct.

A black wallstreet, I've actually thought of that idea myself, we must definitely rebuild our community.

Anyone who finds the idea racist can suck an egg.

But I can't emphasize enough, PLEASE ensure it is properly protected. Remember, the idea of black people rising economically is the white man's (collectively) BIGGEST FEAR, right along with genetic extinction.

Police have literally planted drugs inside of black businesses to bring them down... and ironically, these are probably the same guys who complain "why can't blacks get it together?"

Get high security, build bridges and connections with others, not just locally, but internationally as well.

To mitigate sabotage, you frankly need guerrilla tactics, small groups with one focus. Trusted among each other but wary of strangers. One of the posters on this board mentioned food economics. So maybe one group just puts out a few food trucks.

I am reading one of Claude Anderson's books: "Dirty Little Secrets"
It is straight sad that many of the saboteurs were black! From slave revolts to the turncoats who killed the good brother Malcolm X. I try not to organize with more than 10 people on any goal. Just subcontract the rest. But keep the head and the ownership black.

Hors Sfier

I like the discipline that the NOI had at one point but that religious stuff is for the birds. Waiting on God with no action is a waste. After what happened to Malcolm X at its hands, I can't see that organization being of value. Too large and probably infiltrated to the gills.

You need a feasible target that a few people can support. I keep coming back to that food cart idea as part of an agricultural economic base. Everyone secularist and atheist needs to eat. That is tangible and growable. Start with a cart. Then a truck. Then a restaurant. Then a chain. Heck, go to most places, the people in the back making the food are Latino or black. So even a racist will eat food from a black person.

Mr. Jon
12/7/2014 10:26:14 am

Also,

Tariq seemed to contradict himself in this show.

You can't tell the people to practice group economics by supporting only other black businesses then turn around and tell the guy you don't agree with his idea to boycott Newports.

Does he realize supporting only black businesses automatically means boycotting Newports?

I wonder if family members who live in the states use black dysfunction as a selling point to their non-melanese foreign relatives when convincing them that they should come to the U.S. Is there a marketing force that tells outside groups that if they come to the U.S., they'll no longer be at the bottom because there's a group of people already there occupying this position? Then as a result, making the U.S. that much more appealing. H1B1 visa's drive our economy. Put my hypothesis in the strategy book is all. Our perceived status in the U.S. may actually be attracting foreigners in droves. Thanks.

That actually makes a lot of sense. When you look at how Italians, Irisih, Polish, etc. were treated in this country initially and how they're perceived now (which is you're ALL white so it's all good no matter what your group does) I could totally see that being the case. I live in Japan and a lot of brothers ask me what's it like out in Asia. There's very minor racism but generally speaking you'll get treated much better out here than back home in all aspects of life. And now those people are looking to come out here sometime to either visit or find work.. So I could totally see the reverse being true.
