word tariq, dope show. heard krs talk the same way about finding lifes purpose, find someone else who has kinda thing. i wanted to talk to you bout some kinda apprenticeship network i've been brainstorming about.

as well as the thoughts on becoming, i read a lot of philosophy because i'm working on overstandin the academics. a lot of the time i'm just like man, these old white dudes are really hung up on the idea of 'becoming' and i think they five steps ahead but at the same time 5 steps behind because they too blind to see that they fucked up and gotta deal with their issues of white supremacy before they move anywhere. how important do you think it is for us to school white ppl?

tnx

I'm an audio engineer and it's obvious there is too much reverb. Despite that the game is thorough as always.

Great show as always Tariq..you read the news about a Miami police department using pictures of black males for target practice? The white supremacists are beyond emboldened at this point. Shits real!

I like shows like this, brief and efficient, not too many callers. Tariq has a lot of knowledge ad is able to disseminate it well!

I don't like the way he answered the first caller. The guy was asking for specific information on his 401k...

The stock answer of

"Just open your own business"

wasn't appropriate here. Seeing as flex never worked in the corporate world, perhaps he didn't know much about retirement accounts... and that's alright not to know.

But "Open your own business" doesn't help him now with his 401k does it? Tell him to consult someone else if you are unsure about it.

Also, while I agree with encouraging people opening up more black businesses. Not every African American person has it in them to be an entrepreneur/ business man. And that's okay, we can build an economic base, we can make good money without all opening up our own businesses (which is theoretically impossible anyway).

Contrary to what he says not all people in the dominant society open their own businesses either. True, you may not become a millionaire working for someone else, but if you have a good job, save well, invest well, you can accrue a lot of wealth.

P.S.

I like the new audio! Crisp and clear, more treble... makes it easier for me to hear when I am driving.

Also,

Why can't you get game from a non-black person? Yes, there are white supremacists everywhere but not everyone is on that bullshit.

You know how many white guys like to brag about how they got to where they were? If you're smart and humor them they'll drop a TON of knowledge on you.

I mean think about it. How many successful people in the dominant society write books and host seminars to teach others. Knowing blacks aren't restricted from buying their books or attending their lectures.

I say it's worth a shot trying to learn from anyone.

Remember a white pimp taught Ice-Berg Slim the game right?

"Why can't you get game from a non-black person? "
American society is white run so you can't help but learn game from white people. They saturate media with how great they are. There are entire cable channels featuring reality shows focused on white people doing damn near anything.

The trick is learning from white people without regressing to a childlike state. I like the Japanese approach to learning from Europeans: take what you can, incorporate the best into your society but maintain your identity. Look up Japan during the Meiji Restoration.

As for white people not keeping secrets...this is why you need a denigrated black race. Otherwise white people would HAVE to keep their game secret. THeir game is at a group level. Our game is at an individual level. Observe how WEAK black entertainers are as a group. If black people had a CODE I guarantee you white people would seek to limit the info. A lot of black people use social media to attention seek instead of organizing. Hoodrats with computers more powerful than anything Einstein could access use the webcam to take booty shots. In summary, the fact white people are so open about making everything available should be an embarrassment. That means they don't see us as a challenge at all. Think about it.

"In summary, the fact white people are so open about making everything available should be an embarrassment. That means they don't see us as a challenge at all. Think about it."

I see an advantage where a disadvantage lies...

Get all you can while they don't view us as a threat. Black people are experts at doing that.

Think historically: A new form of Martial Arts (Capoeira) developed b/c whites thought we were just dancing and fooling around.

A lot of communication in churches b/c they thought blacks were just praying and singing. Sometimes not being perceived as a threat can be a good thing if we use it to our advantage.

Yeah, I am being pedantic however...
With respect to Capoeira, white people in Brazil run the blacks and mulattos. That Capoeira is a non-factor relative to white supremacy.

The black church is really the black woman's church, with all of the issues that brings.

I get the larger point behind what you are saying however all these deflections help us to hide from the real problem. Doing cartwheels and praise dancing ain't helping. Black people need to move some large combination of the following three to be taken seriously:
Money, People and Weapons.

" but if you have a good job, save well, invest well, you can accrue a lot of wealth."

That "invest well" is where the payoff happens. However you need a significant amount of capital that you are willing to risk, either in day trading or real estate. Otherwise, there is no way to see wealth in the near term other than starting a business.

And on the subject of 401K you can't touch that money until retirement anyway, say 65, without paying tons of taxes and penalties. So that money is just benefiting someone else.

I guess it depends how we are defining wealth.

I mean what if you are in the top earning tier of a good job... (say Doctor, Engineer, Lawyer) that's a decent amount of capital, no?

One can buy property, invest in mutual funds, etc...

I want to reiterate that I DO think it is a good idea for more black people to open businesses, but not everyone can be an entrepreneur much in the same way not everyone has it in them to be a corporate lawyer.

I mean, keep in mind that 50% of businesses fail within 4 years.

And the gentleman that called can always use the retirement money as start-up money, it is still a good idea to learn to build on that money, no?

Hors Sfier
1/19/2015 09:15:22 pm

I concur that not everyone can or should start a resource-heavy business. Everyone should have a plan for some alternative revenue streams.
My bigger point is that black people should not be complacent at all. Retirement accounts are great once you retire. but say you start at 22 and then you have to wait at least 40 years to get at that loot. What happens in between can vary a lot.

My suggestion to the first caller regarding their 401K:

Open up a separate IRA (Individual Investment Arrangement). An IRA can provide you with tax advantages and you have the opportunity to invest in more options than what your employer's 401K will offer. Here's more information from the IRS:

http://www.irs.gov/Retirement-Plans/Individual-Retirement-Arrangements-%28IRAs%29-1

Also, find a local financial advisor who can provide you with a financial plan specific to your needs and goals.

Peace!

Yeah, the caller should seek professional advice for such a serious matter. As the old adage goes; their's nothing more costly than free advice.

The under current of u.s. history is that this nation was the nation to unite whites from all over the globe. The u.s is a Mecca for white unity and a new chance at not being shit on like in your home country. The u.s is nation that For the first time united divided Africans. The first chance to be united was ruined by slavery.

Bro, the Africans that you speak of were already divided by thousand mile natural barriers of sand and water and internal generational tribal conflict.
Tribal conflict that allowed whites to exploit it and hustle tribe leaders into selling their own cousins into permanent servitude to aliens!

Please, why don't I hear about the Arabs that chopped and stabbed their way into the same position hundreds of years before that and continue to do it now?

Let's have some common sense and perspective here.

Try reading my comment again. I said the U.S. united African's who were already divided. They were united on a slave ship. United under slavery. Ready carefully next time.

One of the best episodes you've done so far. These are jewels you're dropping. I know dudes wanna chase females all day and all of that, but pussy is easy to get and if dudes are having a tough time and haven't figured that out yet, then they need to take a remedial course. Topics like what you spoke on today are far more appreciated by like minded dudes even if it should be obvious.

It was interesting hearing the BlackTokyo advertisement at the beginning of the show, wonder if Zurui is still over the site nowadays? He deleted a lot of the info me and some of the other cats posted on the BBS to help black/aa people in Japan
