"ptahisback" You yourself are deflecting by asking what has Tariq done for the black community. I haven't listened to the podcast yet, and after last week, I promised myself I wouldn't comment prematurely. But I know for sure that Tariq's podcasts/ustreams are like news to me, and if they (news channels) can get paid with commercials and PBS has telethons out the wazoo, why can't Tariq get paid for his info as well? And you still haven't told me what YOU are doing for the black community yourself...

@ptahiback jayz said it best, "you see a person's success and instead of being inspired and say I wanna be successful just like that person,y'all take the reverse attitude." have u not seen Tariq's videos? Have u not listened to his hustling podcasts?? Tariq has shown the audience proof of the work that has done. Smh! It always Niggas or white supremacists that's always hating.

Wow,

We finally got a moderator here? Good timing, the trolls were just getting to the point where they were hijacking the thread.

And I was NOT going to continue posting while there where here. This is OUR place, where POC can discuss our issues. We shouldn't have to deal with this crap.

I doubt these guys go to stormfront.net and argue with white supremacists, but they're eagerly sitting in front of their computer every Wednesday, drooling out the mouth with their dicks in their hands waiting for Tariq to post a new podcast just so they can spam it with the same ridiculous comments week after week... PATHETIC.

A few weeks ago, the troll comments disappeared fairly quickly so someone is watching.

I said it before, the black entertainment class working in Hollywood and in the major sports leagues is the most useless group of blacks in the US. They are so desperate for roles, contracts and music deals that they will take it up the backside for white supremacy. I refuse to watch blacks on TV unless it is black produced and black directed.

There is a clip of Malcolm X making a point to a bunch of white reporters. Right on cue, this black sellout comes out to contradict brother Malcolm. The sellouts have always been with us. I notice that when people make offensive comments about Jews, Asians and Latinos, not one person from those respective communities comes out to say it is okay. Yet we got a line of "new" black people waiting to cover for racist. It is disgusting.

I heard Common do an interview for some movie where he plays an assassin. That brother sounded border line retarded. I couldn't believe that man who did Resurrection, One Day It'll All Make Sense and took on the West Side Connection sounded so weak and emasculated. And check out Pharrel's deposition for the Marvin Gaye case to see how hard he capes for that no talent white boy Robin Thicke. Black people need to abandon these bought and sold black entertainers. Let these white people keep them.

Well Common hooked with Erykah Badu, I think she put roots on him, every dude she gets hold of get on some next ish. Common was big weed user back in the day, right? Maybe he killed too many brain cells. I know his character in Hell on Wheels was strictly for the birds, and my brother still watches that racist pile when it comes on

Ha! Pharrell had to cape, he lost money anyway. Good for him, he should have walked away in the first place. These "new blacks" will have to learn that they still got to deal with the "old supremacy" like all the rest of us. Pharrell, Raven Symone, Charles Barkley, your days are coming

That was not cool of Raven Symone, not cool at all. Eventually, this will catch up on her. It's more dangerous to abandon your own blood than it is to sign your name, in blood, to the enemy.

When selling a product, it's practical to sell something that is new and necessary. Too many people want to sell mix tapes. The product won't sell because it's not high in demand. It's almost like stocks...

One could think out of the box and sell something that people never thought they needed. However, once they have it it will become a necessity. Like Glade.

Also, you have to be REALLY GOOD at your trade. Not mediocre. What you do has to attract and appeal to the public. If you are selling hand made items, etsy is a great place to start. It's free too. You would just have to pay for advertising which shouldn't be much. Facebook is free and so is wearing your product.

Its interesting that Rodner Figueroa is openly gay. It will be intersting to see if Univision hires him back (they fired him). Remember Tariq told us not to let LGBT co opt our civil rights struggle

On one of the Spanish-language newsmagazines, I think it was on Telemundo, the hostess brought up the Figueroa story...and then she said Rayven had said it was not racist! These Latino shows only feature A-list black talent, like Will Smith or Kanye. Yet they brought out Rayven's sellout self to give this Figueroa a pass on his racist comment. The black entertainment class exists solely and exclusively to pacify white people.

Right now, black people are at a tipping point so Figueroa could have been a pacifying measure. And to hear the Spanish media speak it, he had no support at his network so that Obama diss was a breaking straw.

The other thing to consider is that Obama has done a lot for Latinos by way of legislation(Dream Act) and Executive Orders.

Raven Symone is a coon -- plain and simple. As for products, here is a website of a Black-owned health product company that uses organic materials:

Those were some great business ideas. It's great to see more and more practical solutions. Let's create an idea pool so that we can grow that list from 15 all the way to 50. Maybe this type of list can also go on the melanoidnation site as a directory when we get more start a business under $3K ideas.

Then there's no excuse for us getting our melanoid empowerment weight up. The scripts right here

My ideas:
-Nutritional counseling
-Cooking lessons/meal planning service
-If you're so inclined, open a Bed and Breakfast

Most of these side-gigs already have a website for people wanting to do that.

"-If you're so inclined, open a Bed and Breakfast"

You can go on airbnb.com and rent out your apt, room, house etc.

You defended yourself well however I was hoping you would allow your advocates to sling mud for you. Stay King like, stay poised....peace brother

Tariq don't know any better (Dance music subculture), it all sounds the same. But the game was excellent as always!!! Hilarious show. That chick Lisa from New York... I hope she calls into Ustream this weekend so bad...

I just thought of this idea if you are starting from the bottom. First you would need another source of income, like a day job. Save your money and on the side sell candy via personal web site or on the gourmet section at Amazon. You could sell home made candies that are freshly made. You could also sell candy coated organic fruits that were picked from your own garden. Advertising is a must. Once you've accumulated enough money you could set up shop at your local town. That would be cool.

Good Game Tariq
3/19/2015 11:17:31 am

Now that's good game Tariq. Let the game flow.

Now that being said. What yall think of Tariq putting some history game about music in HC4. Like how slaves that were presumably illiterate musicians were making complex music from the chord structure to the theory that would go on to become Gospel and then the backbone of all music, being that gospel music is where Jazz, Blues and AMERICAN Music came from.

Reply
Hors Sfier
3/19/2015 12:12:33 pm

Some other black with a musicology degree should do that project. Or maybe you should do it.

My takeaway for the HC series is that it is possible for black people to self-publish when we want and make profits. Tariq did it well but someone else can do just as well with a history of black music.

@ Hors Sfier You are absolutely right. I let the crux of the show go over my head. The tite of the show was Flipping Work a la CREATING Hustles. Not to imply that a documentary is a hustle.

Like Riq says.. He's not our leader. I opine, that flex is just trying to inspire us to DO bigger and better things. Now I can file my finger nails to that....

Hors Sfier
3/22/2015 02:31:56 pm

@Good Game

Much respect. I keep meeting more and more black people waking up from the Civil Rights hustle. Blacks who have some talent need to put product out, even on a small scale as long as it is quality. We need to stop turning the best of our skills to the people keeping us under siege.

School Book Hustle
3/20/2015 02:52:55 am

As a teacher, I went to a dinner paid for by the publishers of textbooks. They invite teachers out to a fancy restaurant and pay for their food. Keep in mind they rent out a whole section of the restaurant for their presentation. The ratio was 1 male to every 25 females. 1 w-h-i- te for every 10 minority teachers. Well the white-male authors of these textbooks give these passionate speeches (like a baptist church) about how much they care about black students and unfair the world is to these students. It gets all the women in the room all doggy dinner bowl eyed. My gut tells me this is some sick perversion hustle they run when book renewal time comes around. You know they just want to sell books to the district.

Excellent Show! I like shows like this, very solution-oriented, we can only rant about white supremacy so much, they're never going to stop, we just have to keep making that money!

Funny thing this topic came up when it did. I was just thinking of Tariq talking about that breast-feeding specialist and he mentioned "white people know how to monetize their assets" Flex also mentioned the white entrepreneurs who created Facebook and he said "White people have creative hustles"... unlike us who only know:

"Buy my Mix-tape" and "I'm tryn'a sell candy fuh mah basketball team!"

Those resonated with me and I decided to start tutoring. (I was already doing it for free so I decided, why not get paid for it?)

It costed me nothing to put an add on Craigslist. Gather a few supplies, implement an academic plan and that's it.

I now make money from a skill not everyone can do. I make my own hours, choose my own clients, charge whatever the hell I want and 100% of my pay is mine (if you catch my drift).

Jus think of something you are good at and monetize it. Hell, there are FREE tutorials online that can teach you a skill... (Say programming for example)

You can then charge classes for whatever rate you want and it costed you NOTHING but time to learn.

As for the Raven thing... Well, not everyone has the integrity to be like Tariq Nasheed, Jesse Williams, or Mo'Nique. Their acting is their CAREER and unlike most people, they can't just walk to the next franchise of their job and get a new one, they have to kiss ass.

I see guys on social media even cooning they're like "Michelle O. DOES look like an Ape though".

That's what pisses me off. Even if that's true, what sense (or lack of) does someone have to have to actual SIDE with a white supremacist? You don't think they'll say the same snide remarks about you behind your back??!

To date I have NEVER heard a public figure from ANY other race besides black making excuses for another race's racist remarks.

(If you can find me one, please do.) It is only the black community who has all of these tap-dancing, banjo-playing, shuck & Jiving, white ass-kissing, self-hating, sell outs! I am honestly sick of it.

P.S. Tariq's dog poops in the garage? o.O
P.P.S. Too many gay jokes man -_-

BTW, has anyone seen "Selma"?

I wanna know if it's worth the effort to see. I don't watch coonish movies though, and I tend to stay away from movies where blacks are shown subjugated, but if it isn't too coonish I'll give it a try.

Reply

Have not seen it but I'll buy a couple of legit copies of Selma when it comes out on DVD in stores.
White people complained that Lyndon B. Johnson was not featured prominently enough in Selma. In other words, there was no white savior. That makes it worth at least 1 viewing.
