I really hate when people call in for relationship advice when real talk is going on.

I agree with that, I think they are afraid to speak on those serious issues and resort to talking personally.

I don't like when Tariq (or his listeners) get upset about that. The guy's claim to fame was a dating advisor for god's sakes! Should everyone who knew him as a dating coach just find another person?

Besides, when someone asks for the topic he gets pissed and says

"IT'S WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND PLAYA!"

Great show and interview in the UK. That Tina girl was sad. How can you date a guy for 9 months. Never met anyone in his family or saw his house, and not know that you're a jumpoff. She was in denial, even when Tariq was telling her. Future baby momma, sadly.

It's very possible that she is not a sidepiece but his main chick. I think her man is living with his mother.

For Tariq: Just wanted to let you know about a couple of white supremacists who consider themselves "patriots." Pete Santilli, Dahboo77. There are other shills as well but such as Red Silver J. They sell the narrative that Charleston was a set up to take their guns or even that it's a total hoax. It's obvious these Republican shills all work together. The reason I mention Pete Santilli & Dahboo is because these guys traveled to Baltimore & played like they support Black Lives Matter. They don't support it & they claim George Soros paid protesters. So these 2 clowns are definitely 2 racists to look out for.

Well damn. Tariq has simping music for the sisters. Simping by Sunset. The only excuse for not letting a women you claim see your crib is because the living conditions are bad. How is she with him and he has trust issues with women. That is a low self-esteem woman. Shame if she is young cause she is going downhill.

The flag issue is a distraction to deflate growing black outrage amongst the youth. The young people who grow up under a black prez yet still see wanton racism are the real danger to white supremacy. They never got the quiet period where they could just sell out. Whenever I see a black male in a white suburb I think that young homie is one police encounter away from getting his life jacked up. There is nowhere to run.

Very true. That cooning male (Dylann's "friend") Tariq featured this past weekend Ustream is a prime example

"Are you familiar with the term "side chick"? "

HAHAHAHAHA

Many times we know the answer to questions but we need confirmation.

I love how Tariq handled the interview with the guy. The brother is very eloquent and quick on his feet. I'm glad we have someone who is neither a coon, nor someone with no verbal skills representing us.

That host would NOT stop harping on the fact that we have a [half] black President... As if that will make all of systematic white supremacy dissipate like magic!

I personally don't care too much about the confederate flag. I mean, I'm not exactly crying that it is going away.

However, THIS is what I call "false outrage"... The damn thing was waved proudly on government buildings for centuries now suddenly we are outraged???!!! Did everyone not notice it before?

Besides, it is just a symbol! Taking the flag off doesn't affect racism, just like banning the N-word from jobs doesn't make white employees any less racist.

If anything, these white supremacists will get even angrier; fearing they're "losing ground" and retaliate... Y'know, just like they did in '08!

This just in: Gay Marriage legal in all 50 states.

If Obama or the Federal government went in for us just a QUARTER of how hard they went in for gays we wouldn't have half the problems we have.

White homosexuals are officially level with straight whites at this point.

Probably a little elevated in status because they can still reap "minority benefits".

I suspect we will be losing "allies" at this point, as they leave blacks behind... We all we got folks!

Many Americans feel that this "sinful" supreme court decision will bring God's judgement against the entire country. There will be a huge upsurge in hate crimes against gays. They are going to need every black ally they can find.

Actually you make a good point. After Obama got elected, it just made all of the angry racists feel insecure and feel the need to exert their powers. I think the same thing may happen here.

Hors Sfier
6/28/2015 02:24:22 am

That is a smokescreen. The gays did not need black allies then. They don't need nor want them now. The gays had a strategy of using their allies in Hollywood to make them family friendly. Then they focused on ONE agenda: gay marriage.

Nothing is going to change better for blacks now that white gay males have the same legal parity as white straight males. The umbrella of white supremacy has been publicly extended to white gays. Black people are crazy if they think they are getting tangential benefits from the SCOTUS ruling.

Mr. Jon
6/29/2015 02:16:17 am

@ Hors

I agree about the Hollywood thing completely, but I think it's a bit unfair to give them credit for focusing on one agenda.

They only HAD that one problem to even worry about... (which could always be rectified by simply marrying in a state where it is legal).

The black community has an ENTIRE systematic racism (which inevitably leaks into social racism as well). So we literally have our hands full in every segment one can imagine. They gays did not.

Hors Sfier
6/29/2015 11:27:11 am

@Mr. Jon
Solid observation. At this point though, I want black people to focus on any front. Like I said, this whole gay thing is an internal housekeeping matter for white people. White gays may fully partake in white supremacy.

Black people are getting that work across all our demographics: Black women, black men and black children. Collective self-defence is a fair priority.

Mr. Jon
6/29/2015 12:35:06 pm

@Hors...

Y'know, I think they've always been covert white supremacists... It's just that within they're groups they're expected (like blacks are) to be liberal on every issue, including... (reproductive rights, minority rights, women's rights, gay, trans, etc...) so they can't exactly spout hate in their groups as openly as their conservative brethren can.

But believe you me kinfolk, they'll get anti-black as fast as anyone else.

Don't believe me? Say something against gay marriage on social media as a black person... they'll let you have it! That computer screen is like truth serum!

Like BoomerGirl said "we all we got!"

One flag for another
6/26/2015 04:27:45 pm

In my opinion, they basically just replaced the confederate flag with the GLBT rainbow flag. Neither flag stands for the plight of the African Americans in this country. I personally think that the government weighed in on how many ways this "gay marriage legalization" thing can help them make a crap load of money. So now it's time to watch as new "laws" are put into place regarding divorce, benefits, health care, etc, etc, etc. They are playing chess. If you are a lawyer, you might want to specialize in divorce.

Point blank black people weren't organized before Obama. Black people aren't organized for the next black president.

We had none of the following: 1. Money 2. An agenda
If Obama could legally win two more terms, he STILL would be waiting on blacks to get it together.

THe following groups bought money and an agenda and look what they get.

Jews get money and weapons for Israel.
Latinos get executive orders and legislation for immigration reform.
Gays get their marriages recognized.

Blacks get...???

People complain about Obama. Fine. But who will we complain about in 2016? The next prez won't even pretend to listen to black folk whine. We can praise dance and sing though.

Black need to pay attention. This whole gay rights.movement was internal housekeeping for white people. Whites appealing to whites. A lot of the white people who were against gays had to come to terms with gay family members, etc.

This has nothing to do with us. If anything else, blacks went DOWN in status as a result of the SCOTUS ruling.

And the spectacle of black "leaders" dancing and singing where blacks were just massacred by a white racist shows just how much we have sunk. Black church is good for socializing and as a day care. That about it. Generations of praise dancing and we are still subject to an unjust system.

I saw something interesting... With all the money black churches (BILLIONS) raised in the recent years, no one has tried to rebuild a black Wall Street?

Come on.... The Church has potential for group economics and black organization, but it is wasted on cooning, shuckin' and dancin' and teaching submissivness.

What do you mean by "house keeping" btw? Like getting them on one page?

B/c I think bigoted whites are angry at this ruling and are going to (or continue to) lash out on the only group they CAN lash out at without consequence...

Can you guess who? lol

Other than religious nuts, most people don't care about gay marriage because statistically heterosexuals make up the majority. I meet so many pretty single women that what do I care what two consenting adults do on their own time. And gays can and will hit back. In my area, the black gays, especially the young organize in groups for protection. My ex-girl's youngest brother was flaming and she explained that aspect of his life to me. So the gays have some concept of organizing to protect themselves. So let's bring it back to why blacks are sitting ducks for white supremacists?

As for housekeeping I mean that gay rights is kin to the white feminists: Consolidation of white power under the umbrella of systematic supremacy with no benefits toward blacks. Black women got the scraps from the white feminist table. Black gays will be in the same situation. All blacks still potential targets for a takedown.

In a nutshell, what I mean by internal housekeeping is what Tariq said about not cheering white movements that ignore us. Be they white feminists, white gays or white pets. White people clean up their house and send missiles at ours. Later for all that. When black people have real .civil rights then we can talk about all of these other causes.

@Mr. Jon
The black church could easily compete with the Koreans for the dry cleaning business in black areas. Many mega churches do have for-profit side business. Right now, they seem to stick to day cares.

The black church is sad. I respect its historical significance but I can't take church folk seriously when they try to pray away a killer. I see a lot of these pastors as failed pimps and failed drug dealers who found another hustle. The sight of those preaches behind the POTUS in SC made my stomach churn. The blood of the congregants scream for justice and these fools respond with...Amazing Grace. I am glad the next generation is more objective than religious.

@Hors I was just getting ready to disagree on some of your statement but then I realized that my disagreeing with you on small things is the true problem undermining any sort of organized movement. Our personal feelings about situations should not keep us from organizing as a unit, and it is. Unfortunately blacks main problem is that were so off in the weeds about a zillion different unimportant insignificant shit that we are letting time just slip by and not addressing the main issues. We have no simple agenda to rally around and no talking points so we sound collective. We're over 50 years from civil rights and it's the same shit just a different year.
Hors at the end of the day you are right :)

@R8sing A Nation

Much respect. I like your post because you show how blacks make progress even in dissent.

And I agree on your post on the uselessness of distractions. I have a lot of posts on my social media from "liberal" white people who are ecstatic over the SCOTUS decision but had nothing positive to say about the shooting of unarmed blacks. And just today I saw report about a mentally ill unarmed black man getting killed in Baltimore County, which I guess encompasses the city of Baltimore. And gays coopt the civil rights movement and slogans.

So to see the juxtaposition of these two movements is just jarring.
I am troubled by black people who can't coalesce around the cause of just living in this country with all of the rights of a full citizen. We can disagree on everything else but that one should be a no brainer.

I grew up in a very liberal place here in NorCal. Sad thing is now I see the LGBT and migrant farm workers have had better traction with their movements than blacks. No hate on them, they have just been able to organize better on every level and we have been voting for everybody else and it has been detrimental to the black community. So it shouldn't be a surprise that were always the brides maid and never the bride. Look there are better animal protection laws than laws protecting unarmed black people, and that's our fault.

Yes on all your points.
There is a distinction between saying "what about black on black crime?" and saying "we need to do better no matter what anyone else does".

I think the code movement would have a big effect. I never read it but there was relationship book called "the rules" that a lot of white women swore by. Blacks need "the code"

And the thing is, if just a core group of blacks had this code we could separate ourselves from the slumbering blacks in a way that concentrated our power. Technology would augment our abilities.
Really we just need that core group focused on survival and success above all else.

Hors, I'm glad you brought that up about "codes." The codes to which you are referring seems to be in behavioral terms and I agree. However, if we can't get it together on any other front we need to establish some form of communication amongst and between ourselves; some form of code in texting, blogging and even phone conversations. These things are all HIS and can be tapped into and usurped at any time and any place. There was a time when we used drums and now we need a code of communication; we can't plan anything in the kind of environment we live in; this is his land and his country. We've got to be smarter in our strategy and I think it starts with communication.
